BRAND DEVELOPMENT

The Challenge Gorilla RX needed a brand identity that authentically represented its mission and resonated with the Crenshaw community. The brand required a visual system and launch strategy that would establish cultural credibility, celebrate Black women's empowerment, and create genuine excitement for the grand opening.

The Vision We led a comprehensive brand reimagination and launch campaign that positioned Gorilla RX as a community institution rooted in empowerment and cultural pride. The strategy connected visual identity, street-level art, branded merchandise, and content creation into a cohesive launch ecosystem centered on Black women's empowerment.

Strategic Approach We developed a multi-touchpoint strategy designed to make Gorilla RX feel like it belonged to the community, not just served it. Every element reflected the community's culture and values, going beyond traditional branding to create cultural artifacts and public art.

Creative Execution

Visual Identity System We reimagined Gorilla RX's complete visual identity:

  • Bold, vibrant color palette that felt premium and culturally resonant

  • Typography balancing sophistication with accessibility

  • Redesigned logo embodying Black women's empowerment through strong, confident visual language

Impact The rebrand and launch campaign successfully positioned Gorilla RX as a community-centered brand with cultural credibility. The street murals became neighborhood landmarks, the merchandise created brand ambassadors, and the work established Gorilla RX as a business that honors and uplifts the community it serves, particularly Black women.
