FIND YOUR LANE
A GUIDE ON BREAKING INTO THE ADVERTISING INDUSTRY
The Challenge Breaking into advertising is challenging for BIPOC talent due to lack of access, transparency, and insider knowledge. Without connections, aspiring creatives face invisible barriers: unclear career paths, salary opacity, and no roadmap for navigation. This information gap keeps talent out and perpetuates the industry's diversity problem.
The Vision I led the creation of Find Your Lane, a comprehensive digital resource designed to democratize access to advertising careers for BIPOC talent. The goal was to provide the transparency, salary data, and real-world insights that traditionally only come from insider networks.
Strategic Approach Most diversity initiatives focus on recruitment after people are already trained. We identified an earlier intervention point: helping BIPOC talent understand if advertising is right for them, what roles exist, and what to expect before they invest time and money pursuing the industry.
Creative Execution
